We have founded startups. We have been investors. And something is broken there.
As a founder your first priority is to thrive in the market, if you do it right, you will find the capital you need to grow your business. But how you communicate with your investors? How you keep them happy? How you keep them engaged? How do you build trust?
On the other hand, as an investor, you need to know new companies, following them before you invest and establish a relationship with them. Once you have invested, you need to understand whats going on but leaving the founding team room to do their job. You want an efficient way to provide help and give feedback.
The product
CapStreams is a platform to share your company updates, to your relevant stakeholders. They can be your co-founders, your current and potencial investors, employess, specialized press, etc.
You start building your audiences by creating channels. You can create channels for different types of audiences.
Then, you can write your company updates, we called them Streams. If you are familiar with Notion, you will love writing Streams. You have a rich text editor to write your updates. You can add images, files, links, etc.
Once you are done, you can share your Streams with the audience you created. You can select precisely the people you want to share with. You can select the whole channel or a specific users. The choice is yours.
Communication flows both ways
Usually company updates are one way. You send your update and stakeholders receive it. But what if you could send your update and get feedback from your stakeholders? That sounds great in theory, but there are some issues.
Humans are terrible at giving feedback. And it's that way because it's hard. Takes time and effort to do it right and also, we don't like to be around saying things that are not nice sometimes. But as a founder solving a difficult problem, you need to hear all the feedback, even the hard ones. CapStreams solves this problem by giving you a way to send your updates and ask for feedback from your stakeholders.
At CapStreams, stakeholders can give you anonymous or not anonymous feedback. We think anonymous feedback is the best way to get honest feedback. We make it super esay to stakeholders, they only need to do some clicks to do that. If they want to give you a more detailed feedback or help with something, they can do that too leaving a comment.
Comments are private. As a founding team you can see the all the comments sent by your stakeholders and stakeholders can only see the comments between them and the founding team. No other stakeholder participates in the conversation.
How CapStreams is different from...
Email is great. We used to send emails to our stakeholders. But it has a couple of issues: (1) You can not edit your emails after sending them. Once they are sent, they are gone forever. (2) You can not take them back. Imagine you want someone no longer to see a sent update, there is no way to take that email back. (3) You may track open, but that's it.
Linkedin is super popular in the corporate world and people love to make announcements there, but it's not the best way to communicate with your investors. Your company updates contain a lot of information that it's not meant to be public. You want to control who sees your updates and who can interact with them.
CapStreams is the best of both worlds.
Happy CapStreaming!
